Reflexology

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that focuses on the whole body via treating the feet (or hands).  It's main principle is that by massaging/applying pressure to the specific areas of the feet, know as reflex areas, corresponding and connected areas of the body will be benefited.

Reflexology works on the theory that the whole body is connected from head to toe.  The feet and hands are like mini-maps of body's anatomy and divided into 10 longitudinal zones.  The theory is that by manipulating a particular area of the foot, any body system within that zone can be accessed, stimulated and will feel a positive benefit.

Chronic stress is known to have a disruptive effect on hormonal balance and thus ovulation.

Reflexology is renowned for having a deeply relaxing effect so may help in allowing the parasympathetic nervous system to function better, reduce cortisol (stress hormone) levels, both of which may help regulate menstrual cycles.

Reflexology also aims to stimulate parts of the endocrine system, of which many are aimed at promoting hormonal balance.
